The first DuPont polymer derived from biological sources has received an award by the China State Intellectual Property Office and China Central Television (CCTV) as the "Most Visionary Innovation", in the sport and health category. Sorona is the latest DuPont innovation in the polymer field.
Du Pont Sorona in fact also received an award in 2005, in the "New Technologies in Renewable Materials and Processes" 2005 category at the Global Plastics and Environmental Conference, sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).
The fabrics made using Sorona for sportswear are marketed through Chinese fibre and textile manufacturers. It having been selected out of over 1,000 products, manufactured by local and multi-national companies.
