Du Pont Sorona in fact also received an award in 2005, in the "New Technologies in Renewable Materials and Processes" 2005 category at the Global Plastics and Environmental Conference, sponsored by the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE).
The fabrics made using Sorona for sportswear are marketed through Chinese fibre and textile manufacturers. It having been selected out of over 1,000 products, manufactured by local and multi-national companies.
Sorona offers consumers and manufacturers a host of truly unique properties. While consumers appreciate the softness, easy-care feature and its high degree of resistance to UV rays and chlorine that it imparts to textiles; manufacturers truly appreciate its dyeing and workmanship simplicity. Sorona based products are also highly resistant to stains, without necessitating any chemical treatments.
