New frontiers in preparation-to-weaving

Warping

Fast and versatile warping
Versomat is an automatic sectional warper, fast and versatile, for the warping of samples, as well as small and larger production batches, using all types of yarn. This is very important because the ability to process small batches is a key requirement of weaving in today’s global market, where one needs to be able to operate effectively in the more remunerative niche markets targeted by countries, like Italy for example, that have an advanced textile culture.
The Versomat is a small machine with a last-generation leasing device that does not need permanent floor fixtures; automatic leasing, without an operator, is possible both for odd and even selections and for sizing splits. The small number of threads per section (the smallest that can be warped is 4 mm) and the high speed of the machine increase its output. Other peculiar features are the leasing device with double splittable reed, the automatic control of the section tension, the measurement of the width of the section and of the feed pitch, the laser system for detecting threads that are out of the selection and the possibility of fitting the machine both with mechanical and electrical beaming: the latter allows extremely light pulls and reversal of the beaming direction.
The machine can also be supplied with a “transitional” beamer which makes it possible – regardless of the working stage the warper is in – to tie the different warpings and prepare beams of different sizes, ready for weaving.

Strengths
The new machine offers new functions and performance levels thanks to key devices ensuring precision, reproducibility, production flexibility and reduction of downtimes.
The manufacturer has focused on a series of points.
- the possibility of processing sections made up of a minimum of 16-30 threads, depending on the count;
- complete automation of option selection with a wide range of choice;
- shorter management times: around 7 seconds for each odd and even leasing and around 25 seconds to carry out the 7 size separation selections;
- preparation of different warpings such as beam reserves for subsequent beaming operations, with stands equipped with reeds and leasing devices ready for the next warp sheet to be tied;
- small and large warp sections to be tied, depending on the weaving requirements;
- possibility of using the system with the machine idle, that is, with the leasing device distributing the threads on the rotating drum without horizontal motions, this resulting in a considerable reduction of machine dimensions;
- innovative predisposition for striped warping, with reed centring system;
- quick machine stops in the event of thread breaks: thread path of just 2.8 metres before the machine stops

All these elements, newly developed, make it possible to achieve remarkable production targets that meet the needs of the modern weaving mill, which is constantly under enormous pressure to deliver quality, process flexibility, and lower running costs.
