Sampling and small-scale production: strategic sector for textile companies

Finishing

Tighter and tighter deadlines
Sometimes, in order to be able to meet the various requests on time, companies have no choice but to process larger quantities of material than are needed, because they do not have enough or adequate equipment for dyeing small batches.
The fact that some of this material will often not be used means that extra costs are incurred, on top of the already high costs of realising the samples.
Unfortunately, companies are still paying too little attention to this problem: indeed, an initial investment can quickly lead to savings, of both time and money, in the preparation of samples. Indeed, a number of companies still regard this kind of investment as “economically unacceptable” because it is not an investment in production machinery.
Instead, the sector of sampling and small-scale production is actually a strategic one for a company’s business and, together with the dyeing lab, is destined to become even more so in the future.
The inability to deliver samples on time could easily leave the door open for the competition, thereby resulting in wasted effort and a reduction of company turnover.
Nowadays, everything revolves around speed, and even textile operators are having to adjust to this iron rule, finding themselves conditioned by the ever-increasing speed of communications. Naturally, production too is influenced by this mode of operating.
For many, just in time has become almost a philosophy of company life, capable of conditioning processes and flows within the company.
Tecnorama, which has always been sensitive to all the problems relating to the dyeing and finishing department, has analysed this particular aspect and come up with some valid solutions.
